This book is an attempt to investigate the establishment of the State of Israel, Turkey’s recognition of the Jewish state and its repercussions on the Turkish public between the years 1936 and 1956.
作者簡介
Born in Istanbul in 1973, Karel Valansi graduated from Notre Dame de Sion French High School, with a focus in Literature (1993), Koç University, BA in Business Administration (1998), Kadir Has University, MA (2016). She is a PhD candidate at Kadir Has University in International Relations. She started to write for Salom newspaper in 2003 and became a foreign news editor in 2007. Now she is a columnist for Salom and T24 and she contributes to many newspapers and journals. She is often invited for lectures on Israeli politics, Turkish foreign policy and Jewish identity. She regularly appears for commentary on TV and radio programs. She specializes in Turkish-Israeli relations, Arab-Israeli conflict, and Turkish Jewish history. She contributed to Atilla Dorsay’s book about the disappearance of the old Istanbul symbolized with Emek Movie theater; “Emek yoksa ben de yokum!” (Kirmizi Kedi, 2014) and to “Meçhul Yahudiler Ansiklopedisi” edited by Rifat N. Bali (Libra, 2016) on the history of ordinary Turkish Jews.
