Wild Eggs ― A Tale of Arctic Egg Collecting

Instead of visiting her grandparents, Akuluk would rather head south for summer vacation, somewhere with roller coasters and cotton candy. But as soon as she steps off the plane and sees all the exciting animals that the tundra has to offer, Akuluk forgets all about her dreams of going south. On her first full day in Nunavut, she travels out on the land with her grandfather to hunt for wild eggs. Suzie Napayok-Short built a career as an Inuktitut translator and interpreter working for government departments and organizations throughout Canada. Suzie currently lives in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, with her husband, their two children, and one grandchild. Jonathan Wright is the illustrator of the Silver Birch-nominated book Ava and the Little Folk. He lives in Iqaluit, Nunavut.
