商品簡介
Because the "Altaic" divergence and convergence theories have been thoroughly disproven on scientific grounds, Shimunek does not discuss them in detail, and finds that most of the other hypotheses on the origin of the Mongolic languages are methodologically flawed, the exceptions being the Ancient Mongol Theory and the Para-Mongolic Theory. Applying the same scientific methods linguists use for other language groups, he discusses previous theories on the origins of the Mongolic languages, early northern varieties of Chinese, notes on the phonology of Old Tibetan, Taghbach and other Middle Serbi dialects of the Northern Wei, the T'u-yü-hun ('Azha) language, the Kitan language, toward a reconstruction of common Serbi-Mongolic, and the proto-Serbi-Mongolic homeland.
