商品簡介
The authors (of Canada's U. of Ontario Institute of Technology and York U.) originally intended this book as the third edition of The Wrong Stuff: In Introduction to the Sociological Study of Deviance but changed the title as the focus shifted to theories, research, and policies omitted from the first two editions. They describe the strain, social control, interactionist, ecological, and critical perspectives of the sociology of deviance, crime, and social control, along with their sociological influences. They then apply these perspectives to the topical issues of woman abuse, homicide, corporate crime, drug use and abuse, and gangs. The text concludes with a chapter on the relationship between theory and social policy. Annotation ©2005 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
