商品簡介
Drawing on her qualitative, in-depth ethnographic study, Junck outlines the strategies male refugees employ in navigating their daily lives within different social landscapes of Cape Town, in spite of being neatly objectified as foreign, and the grim precarities resulting from this objectification. She investigates how the men manage to bring about certainty in the face of multiple uncertainties, and extends her focus to the men's dreams and the modes by which they seek to achieve them in the face of unpredictability.
