Celebrate the little moments that make each month special in this edition of this inclusive Caldecott Honor book featuring 12 poems about a family and the turn of the seasons. Updike's poems provide the accompaniment for Hyman's award-winning images of an interracial family going about the business of their lives throughout the year, from sledding in January through making valentines, playing at the beach, and picking pumpkins.
作者簡介
John Updike was one of America's greatest postwar writers. His awards include the Pulitzer Prize, the National Book Award, and the National Book Critics Circle Award.
Trina Schart Hyman was a renowned illustrator best known for her fairy tale, medieval, and Arthurian art. She was awarded one Caldecott Medal, three Caldecott Honors, and the Golden Kite Award. Born in Philadelphia, she lived most of her life in New Hampshire. The images in this book are of Trina's own grandchildren, including her youngest grandson, depicted, as in life, as always getting into mischief. Please note that you see him dressed up as a devil in the October illustration!
