商品簡介
Sebasta provides an account of all of the surviving churches in South Dakota built before 1930. Beginning with an essay by historical preservationist Elizabeth J. Almlie, the text chronologically explores churches from every corner of the state. Each chapter focuses on a particular decade from the 1870s to the 1930s. Ten or so churches are featured in each chapter, with the author offering a summary of their construction, their congregants, and their use (or disuse) throughout the years. The bulk of the book though, is an impressive photographic collection of over six hundred and fifty churches, showing off the humble simplicity of rural churches and the grandeur of large stone cathedrals and everything in between.
