MARY QUATTLEBAUM has always been curious about siblings, and with three brothers and three sisters, she has plenty of firsthand experience in sibling relationships. Quattlebaum and her brothers and sisters grew up in the country and liked to explore the nearby fields, woods, pond, and beaver dam. She is the author of Pirate vs. Pirate, Jo MacDonald Had a Garden, The Hungry Ghost of Rue Orleans, and Jackson Jones and the Curse of the Outlaw Rose. Her nonfiction picture books include Mighty Mole and Super Soil and the National Geographic chapter books Hero Dogs and Together Forever. Quattlebaum is the award-winning author of 20 children's picture books, books of poetry, chapter books, and novels, and is a popular presenter at schools and conferences. She teaches in the Vermont College MFA program in Writing for Children and Young Adults and at the Writer's Center in Bethesda, Maryland. She regularly writes for KidsPost and reviews children's books for the Washington Post and Washington Parent. Her work appears frequently in children's magazines such as Cricket, Spider, Ladybug, Highlights, and Boys' Life.
Tovah Klein is an associate professor of psychology and the director of the Barnard College Center for Toddler Development. Called the "toddler whisperer" by Good Morning America, Professor Klein is the author of How Toddlers Thrive. She grew up with two brothers and now resides in New York City with her husband and three sons.
