The long and difficult medical journey detailed step by step in this book is the true story of Peggy and Eugenio as they summon all the courage they have to fight cancer in the time of COVID-19. The settings are also real. However, the author has embellished the waiting room experiences with outlandish, mostly fictional characters to add levity to an otherwise frightening odyssey. The book is set in Florida and describes the couple's trips to Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa as well as to other medical facilities. Their corgi mix, Chico Suave, accompanies them much of the time. The book is written from Peggy's point of view in first person and cumulates with the lessons she has learned along the way. The themes are hope, persistence, and survival.
