After the death of her husband in a tragic bicycle accident, Susan had to leave her home of 34 years and move to an apartment in Madison. This helped make it easier for her 2 loving kids and their spouses to help take care of her daily needs. (The many chores and caretaking that her husband so lovingly did for her as a woman with pretty severe disabilities.)

Susan is finishing the last of 3 books in the Up in the sky series for her editor Linda and her husband Bobo, while learning to adjust to a new life. There is a treasured book about a wee dog in Ireland that is soon to be published, and more collaboration with her daughter in the works.
