About the Adaptor
Shang-fang Tsai received his Ph.D. in 1973 with a major in nuclear theory from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. He had served as Professor and Chairman of the Physics Department, National Taiwan University, before he was appointed in 2003 as the Provost of WuFeng University of Science and Technology, Chiayi, Taiwan, where he also served as a Professor of Electrical Engineering until 2009. He has been a key member in the Training and Selection Committee of Taiwan’s national team for both the Asian and International Physics Olympiad and is a grand juror of the World Physics Olympiad.

 

Principles of Physics: A Calculus Approach is designed for a one-year introductory calculus-based physics course for engineering and science students as well as premed students. This book has two main objectives: to provide students with a clear and logical presentation of the basic concepts and principles of physics; and to strengthen their understanding of these concepts and principles through a board range of interesting real-world applications.
