Bella's Family Tree

A children's book about alternative families and the many ways family units can be formed through adoption, fostering, grand-parenting, same-sex parenting, co-parenting, and those who use egg, sperm, or embryo donation to build their family.

Bella runs off the school bus with her new family tree assignment in hand. She's excited to tell everyone how she has a tummy mommy and her adopted mommy. But first, rambunctious Bella wants to play outside and swing on her tree. Due to an oopsie after not listening to her mother, Bella finds herself with some unexpected extra time to work on her project. When Bella and her mother start working together on her family tree, Bella learns about the different ways families can come together. Some children, like Bella, are adopted, others are raised by their grandparents or foster parents. Some children have two mommies, and some have two daddies. Some families need the help of special sperm donors, egg donors, embryo donors. Bella realizes the one thing they all have in common is love.

This book offers simple descriptions even the smallest child can understand about the different ways families can come together and the one thing they all have in common-Love.
