Indigenous Australia For Kids For Dummies

Wiley will be publishing the second edition of Indigenous Australia for Dummies in March 2021. The author is Larissa Behrendt - novelist, filmmaker, Distinguished Professor and Associate Dean (Indigenous Research) at UTS and Eualeyai/Kamillaroi woman. For Dummies books are carefully designed to take complex topics and make them easy to learn, and for this title, the uplifting, informative and accessible approach has united many different audiences around the book.

We are also creating a digestible edition called Indigenous Australia For Kids, for children and young people aged 10-15 years old. This is an authoritative, sensitive and engaging title that will allow young Australians to appreciate, understand and embrace how lucky we are to live in the home of the world's oldest civilisation which is incredibly diverse, rich and thriving. From this foundation, comes the impact of colonisation, key milestones in Indigenous rights and issues facing communities today. If the first step is engaging young readers, then the next step will be revealing a clear path for readers to actively contribute to a more progressive future.
