They are important in preventing exploitation by employers, preventing mass resignations, providing work security, ensuring good working conditions and creating conditions for a happier workforce. In this book, we give an overview of the main labour laws in India, including the newer labour codes introduced in 2020 by the Indian government. We also focus on practical issues, such as what to do and whom to approach if one is unfairly dismissed from work. It is hoped that this book will help in spreading awareness about the prevailing labour laws among working people.
