Each chapter begins with, and is structured around, specific learning objectives. Chapter openers also feature new laboratory experiments that are associated with the learning objectives of the chapter.
Lab experiments are integrated into the WileyPLUS course with pre-lab concept questions. Additional problems, both computational and conceptual, are provided for students to complete after performing the experiments.
Tools to help students build their problem-solving skills have been expanded to take full advantage of the combination of print and digital media. Key concepts are first described in text with illustrations, followed by detailed example solutions. Additional problems -- Learning Assessments -- are given with their answers but not solutions provided. Most Learning Assessment are solved in detailed video tutorial in WileyPLUS.
Also in WileyPLUS, algorithmic problems give students the opportunity to practice the same types of problems with randomized values that change with repeated attempts.
In order to provide maximum flexibility, solved examples are available in online supplements that apply the most popular problem-solving programs, MATLAB®, PSPICE or MultiSim. Every chapter includes FE Exam Problems, which closely match the style and level of problems typically found on this standardized test taken by most engineering students before graduation.
Reading quiz questions enable students to self-assess their comprehension, giving faculty timely information on what students are currently working on, in order to address their needs.
Concept videos deliver ‘virtual office hours’, focusing on specific learning assessments within the text.
