Education is a life-long process by which an individual prepares himself/herself gradually and gracefully to the available physical, emotional, intellectual, social and spiritual environments. The educators, especially the 20th century onwards laid stress on the social aspects of education in addition to theacademic areas. This has also been forcefully reasserted by the International Commission on Education for Twenty-first Century (UNESCO, 1996).
