The Road will kill them...
...unless he uses magic that he barely understands. Thomas, a seventeen-year-old magician's apprentice, must travel to Camelot. His misfortune was taking the Road of Leaves. He joins a walking party that includes a monk, merchants, a troubadour, and an old woman. It seems like a pleasant hike along an enchanted, leaf-strewn way.
But when the Road is attacked, its magic goes wild and deadly.
Now Thomas faces an enchantment collapsing around him that threatens to destroy all of them. It only gets worse when he learns that the queen has entered the Road of Leaves at the other end and is now trapped.
