Plate osteosynthesis of humeral shaft fracturesrepresent the gold standard for anatomical reduction and solid fixation, enabling early rehabilitation; but open treatment exposes the patient to the risk of infection and, above all, iterative radial paralysis. These complications are not seen with the other two techniques, namely minimally invasive endo-medullary treatment by percutaneous pinning or anterograde nailing.This is still a highly topical issue, since therapeutic indications are not yet well codified, and a number of complications secondary to fracture or treatment have yet to be mastered. These are usually minimized by rigorous application of the operative technique.
