Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 Vs Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023- A comparative study: For parallel and comparative study of both the Acts

The Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (BNSS) is effective from 1st July, 2024 by replacing Cr.P.C. As per section 531 of the Sanhita, all appeals, applications, trails, inquiries and applications which have been initiated under Cr.P.C. before the effective date will be proceeded under Cr.P.C.

So after effective date legal professionals will be deal with both the Cr.P.C. and BNSS simultaneously for a considerable period.

In BNSS some sections of Cr.P.C. have been omitted, some new sections added and some sections modified.

To deal with simultaneous requirement of both Cr.P.C. and BNSS, this book contains three parts. Part-I contains section wise reference of Cr.P.C. and BNSS to enable quick view of omission, addition and modification of sections in BNSS in comparison with Cr.P.C. Part-II contains section wise detail reference of Cr.P.C. and BNSS with highlight of sections or part of section which have been omitted from Cr.P.C., of section which have been added in BNSS and of part of section which have been modified in BNSS. Part-III contains The First Schedule- Classification of Offences under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 which is also effective from same date and Classification of offences against other laws.
