Jange Azadi Ke Asbab: (Essay on the Causes of the Indian War of Independence 1857)

The War of 1857 is called the first war of independence in the subcontinent. It is true that this war was not successful in expelling British from the Indian soil, but this failure could not crush the people's spirit of freedom. The spirit against foreign rule continued to grow day by day and continuous efforts to achieve independence continued in different directions, the fruit of which was finally achieved in the form of complete independence. On the 150th anniversary of the War of Independence, a seminar was organized at Iqbal Academy, Hyderabad (Telangana). An important paper by Ghulam Rasool Mehr, presented at the same seminar, is included in this book.

1857 کی جنگ برصغیر میں پہلی جنگ آزادی کہلائی جاتی ہے۔ یہ صحیح ہے کہ انگریزوں کو سرزمین ہند سے نکال باہر کرنے میں کامیابی نہیں ہوئی لیکن یہ ناکامی عوام کے جذبہ حریت کو پامال نہ کر سکی۔ بیرونی اقتدار کے خلاف جذبہ روز بروز بڑھتا رہا اور حصول آزادی کی متواتر کوششیں مختلف سمتوں میں جاری رہیں جس کا پھل بالآخر مکمل آزادی کی صورت میں حاصل ہوا۔ جنگ آزادی کی ڈیڑھ سو ویں سالگرہ پر اقبال اکادمی حیدرآباد (تلنگانہ) میں سمینار منعقد کیا گیا۔ اسی سمینار میں پیش کیا گیا مولانا غلام رسول مہر کا ایک اہم مقالہ اس کتاب میں شامل ہے۔
