商品簡介
For our people to be successful, we need to pursue Navajo educational sovereignty. We must empower our students to learn, adapt and educate themselves using our language.
Dr. Buu Nygren, President, The Navajo Nation The Future of Navajo Education presents the new and transformative ways that Navajo educators explore the dynamic educational resources available in their communities and the world outside the Navajo Nation, to propose organizational change in their areas of expertise. This book includes scholarly research that fosters social responsibility and community service in accordance with the educational philosophy of the Navajo people. It is authored by Fielding Graduate University alumni from the Navajo Nation who continue to use their expertise in advancing Navajo education. Many of these graduates remain rooted in their home communities across the Navajo Nation. Still others educate Navajo students in border towns next to the Navajo Nation. In each chapter, the reader will discover the continual application of time immemorial principles and practices of the Diné people relevant to Navajo education in the 21st century. These foundational principles continue to guide the Diné people.
