Friends, some of whom bully her, confirm her beliefs. Sofia grew up, studied, supported herself with a part-time job, to help her mother, who had recently suffered from Alzheimer's.
The fact that she feels ugly carries it with her, even as a teenager. The mirror is her most bitter enemy, although she is overwhelmingly beautiful. Claudio takes her to the top of success, marries her, but neglects her. Zayn loves her and saves her. The friends who once bullied her will never get her approval.
