Katie MacGregor and Beri Quintinar have successfully reclaimed Avalon after the devastating Ogre War. Now, they face an even greater challenge - rebuilding their home. Beri, the last surviving son of late High King Thael, must bear the weight of the crown and navigate the political intricacies of ruling a kingdom. Meanwhile, Katie, accompanied by her loyal comrades Dave and Geordie, is set to become one of the first three half-fey Knights of the High King's Royal Guard.

Amidst the joyous celebrations, a sinister plot begins to unfold when a walking corpse makes an attempt on Beri's life. Katie, with the help of the snarky yet captivating magic professor Ushi Yamoto, embarks on a dangerous journey Earthside. Their mission: to find a Necromancer who can put the restless Sluagh back in their graves.

As Katie battles against the forces of mortality, Beri faces his own personal struggles. Despite finally being with the woman he loves, he must fulfill his promises and navigate the treacherous political landscape or risk the loss of his newly acquired throne. To complicate matters further, Prince Glorian, heir to the Seelie Court, harbors a deep grudge against Katie and seeks revenge for his mother's execution. He not only desires her head but also wishes to plunge Avalon into another unwinnable war.

With the Summer Solstice and Prince Glorian's impending coronation drawing nearer, Katie and Beri must strengthen their relationship amidst renewed trials and adversity. Failure could result in not only losing each other but also everything they have fought so hard to achieve.
