The Petroleum Club purchased the Campbell Family chandelier at an estate sale and placed it in the club's men's grill over the poker table. People began dying in the chandelier's presence. Connie and Jeremy convinced the club that an evil spirit possessed the fixture. The club's decorator removed it three times, but it magically returned to the chef's table each time.
Frightened, Connie persuaded Father Mario, a priest, to help them. The club took the chandelier down a fourth time, and Connie, her brother, Father Mario, and the club's decorator stayed overnight in the club's kitchen to witness its mysterious reinstallation. They saw a terrifying supernatural transformation unfold as the chandelier returned itself to the chef's table A female form spoke to them from a spinning light above the table. They learned the demon's name was Seraphina-the angel of fire.
Father Mario attempted to cast the demon from the chandelier but failed. He felt his faith was weak and inadequate. He sought help from Bishop Garza, a vain, and pompous man much like the statuesque Seraphina, who took pleasure in displaying her beauty and haughty personality. Garza believed his worthiness and powerful faith in God would exorcise the demon from the chandelier. He failed and was humiliated by the demon.
Jeremy, desperate for ideas, researched killing demons online. His findings suggested three ways to exorcise a demon from an inanimate object: divine intervention, Holy water, and destroying its binding point-the chandelier.
Connie reasoned that the demon and chandelier were indestructible when together. She needed to lure Seraphina out of the chandelier's sanctuary. She suggested appealing to the demon's vanity and leveraging her expansive, show-off personality.
Jeremy proposed luring her out with an alluring, flammable drink called the Holy Water Cocktail, made with spiced rum, cognac, chartreuse, bitters, and lime juice.
Jeremy prepared the exotic drink, shaking it with ice immersed in holy water. Father Mario lit the flammable concoction, and Seraphina stepped naked out of the chandelier. The demon screamed when her lips touched the holy water. Connie and Jeremy threw their burning cocktails onto the table, starting a fire under the chandelier. Father Mario, with renewed faith, spoke powerful words from the Holy Bible that caused the demon to vanish. The characters had successfully rid the nightmare of the demon.
Three months later, the Petroleum Club invited Connie, Jeremy, the club's decorator, and Father Mario to a lavish dinner at the chef's table. The club's manager announced that he had a surprise. A new, modern, French globe-style crystal chandelier hung over the chef's table. The guests enjoyed a lavish, five-course meal served with great elegance.
After the guests left, Connie and Jeremy remained with the club's manager for a glass of cognac. After finishing their brandy, Connie paused at the kitchen exit and looked back to admire the chandelier. To her shock, it blinked twice at her. Was it still alive?
