The Silent Savant

Samuel Jones tells the riveting story of his life soon to be cut short by terminal illness. He speaks into a tiny recorder, careful not to be heard and quickly hiding the device when anyone comes near. As his narrative unfolds it becomes clear that he possesses penetrating insight into the character of others. Most unusual is his dialogue, unexpectedly overheard by his caretaker, Edna, a slang infused vernacular that belies the intelligence behind his words.
He speaks to a girl he met at a home for orphaned children after he was abandoned by his father. He calls her Dollface. Step by step, building to an eerily spiritual climax, Samuel and Edna pursue parallel paths, his, a fantasy to reunite with Dollface, Edna's, a real life search to find the young woman before it's too late.
