What happens when home is no longer a haven?

Driven by family tragedy, Freedom "Dom" Hall is a newly minted therapist eager to serve the community that raised him and honor the pact he made with his best friend, Kendra. His job at a local clinic, New Horizons, seems like the perfect place to begin making the change he has long envisioned. But things are not as they seem.

To his surprise, his employer has partnered with a large tech company to provide virtual reality-based therapy to clients. The cutting-edge care seems promising, but it doesn't take long for a few strange incidents to suggest there may be more to the business partnership. And Dom is not the only one with suspicions.

The Village, a covert group with roots in maroon communities and a radical mission, enlists Dom's help to uncover the truth. This uncertain alliance will force him to confront his past and the true nature of healing.
