Road Kill

Mike Brooks little imagined that his discovery of the victim of a probable hit and run incident in a country lane would have life-changing consequences for him and his children. After identification of the body, Detective Inspector Des Matthews and his colleague, Detective Sergeant Rachel Allen, uncover a connection to Mike's time as a teacher over fifteen years earlier, before he took early retirement. When more details about the dead man's personal and professional life are found, it appears that any one of a number of people might have killed him. Investigation of another apparently accidental death suggests a link between the two victims. Nothing, however, is quite as it seems.
