Sustainable Blue Economy and Ocean Governance in India

This book is based on pioneer research done by me between 2014 to 2018 in the domain inIndia. I am happy to note since then the government of India has picked up its developmentconcerns with regard to the Blue Economy. The team under Dr. Alok Tripathi, ASI hasstarted exploring the submerged underwater cultural heritage called Dwarka dating thiscivilization to more than 9000 years as suggested in my research. Marine Tourism needsgreater focus as it will be a great source of revenue for India.The definition of water based Blue Economy has undergone several changes in its path tocrystallization. From its very initiation by Dr. Gunter Pauli in 2009 when the scope hadnothing to do exclusively with water based economy, to its present understanding of inclusivegrowth and sustainable development, the Blue Economy has progressed through relatableparadigm shifts.India is an emerging global leader. India has to take its blue economy at a much higher levelthrough effective ocean governance.
