For twenty years, Linda and William Palmer have lived happily in their rented home as part of a close-knit community now under threat from gentrification. As luxury flats rise, and private equity snap up homes, prices rocket and families like the Palmers are pushed aside in the name of big profit.

But Linda won't go quietly. As an accidental activist, she moves out of the kitchen into a grassroots rebellion fighting hi-tech forces, corporate greed and property magnates out to make a quick fortune. Her fight gains momentum when she discovers that the ancient Yew, an important local landmark is to be cut down to make way for a car park. As tensions mount and the stakes become desperate Linda's actions grow bolder, riskier, and impossible to ignore.

While William appeals to the authorities for help, Linda rallies fellow rebels in the guise of landed gentry against gentrification, a wayward rasta still fighting the system while picking up his pension, and a chaotic crew of anti-capitalists calling themselves The Outraged. With Linda's lead, the resistance starts to grow and when her granddaughter Lily streams their antics on social media, their fight explodes across the globe.

Spurred on by the growing wave of public support, what begins as one woman's stand to protect her home turns into a wider battle for justice, dignity, and the soul of a society.
