Yuhwa Bon-Gil, celebrated Jadoube pilot. Orphaned young, she keeps it free and easy in life. Recently she made friends with the first Humans to travel the Aoni, enjoying the excitement, keeping clear of bigger responsibilities. Just the way she likes it.

Is she still miffed at being tricked by a lying thief? Oh yeah. Does she dread being forced home for the spiritual journey her people undertake? For sure. That's why she's focused on simple things: retrieve a friend's family from Earth? No problem.

Paul Phelan knows he's a lot more than just the older brother of a Drazoen Herald. Katy woke up one of those dragons (so she says), but he's going to travel on a spaceship to the center of the Universe to see what's what for himself. And he'll keep the rest of his family safe and in line at the same time.

Why, he can slide right into the role of Next Herald on Deck, thank you very much. He teaches gymnastics to little kids; how much harder can it be to wake up a sleeping dragon? He'll get right on it. Once he's figured out how intergalactic politics, food replicators, and rogue spaceships work.
