Technology Transfer in Agriculture

The book is mainly focused on problems and prospects of technology transfer in agriculture. The agriculture is the key sector providing prime source of employment and income for the most of the developing nations. As the scope of bringing in new land area under cultivation has become severely limited, the important way to enhance agricultural productivity is through introduction of improved agricultural technologies and its appropriate transfer. Uses of sophisticated and improved technology are the need of time to improve the productivity of land and labour. The study supports the hypothesis that adoption of new technology makes significant difference in yield per hectare. It has been found that technology adoption has positive significant impact on yield per hectare of land of the crops. The study further provides evidence that yield per hectare of land is also influenced by the factors like level of education, per-capita income, irrigation, participation in training, family labour, paid labour and farm size.
