"The plan was simple: Get Erling off planet, fly a ship to Pluto, and destroy the wormhole before Mars takes control of the entire system. Now, Penny's stuck on a four-year journey across Solar. She'd kill herself if she could, but Erling's mangled body is healing inside an Elysian Tomb and she needs to feed it ration packs daily or he'll die - well, knowing Erling, he might not, but it's a risk she can't take.
There's hardly enough food for even one of them. Alone and starving, Penny's slipping mind and malnourished body are barely hanging on. Survival is a game she's played her whole life-on the farms, in the war, in every impossible moment that should have broken her- but this is different. This time, there's no one coming to save her.
With nothing but space and time ahead, Penny clings to memories of friendship, violence, and love to keep herself sane, to keep herself alive. But as the horrors of her past begin seeping into the cracks of her reality, she starts to realize that she's not as alone as she thought."
