Writer Ray Wills, affectionately known as the Gypsy Poet, is a writer of fiction and non-fiction, poetry and prose. He has now turned his pen to this stunning new novel entitled "A VILLAGE OF CROWS". This a collection of enthralling fictional tales built around Dorset village life during the 19th and early 20th century. Each tale has a rich historical background, supplemented throughout with an imaginative unique collection of the author's poetry and prose.
Ray is a performing poet commissioned by the Arts Council to perform at Bere Regis in the 2023 Dorset Festival. He is also a regular contributor to periodicals such as Travellers' Times and Play & Playgrounds. He has worked closely with Museums, Heritage centres, Community centres and libraries throughout the county of Dorset, providing displays, extensive research, and talks specifically on the Gypsy Roma Travellers community. Ray gives regular talks and book readings. He previously worked for three decades establishing and managing Children adventure playgrounds throughout the UK. His qualifications include R. S.A Diploma in Management /NVQ4 Degree level and City and Guilds Senior Youth worker Award. At present he lives in an artists, musicians and writers community, in the village of Bere Regis in Dorset.
