Forged in Blood

Queen Aurelia of Akkinor thought she'd put war and danger behind her after her defeat of Willem Trevas, King of Kanibar - a victory that brought the goddess of the moon back to the realm, and fulfilled a prophecy promising a brighter future. Now, three years later, a second, incomplete prophecy emerges, and Aurelia finds that Willem is still trying to bring her down from beyond the grave.

What begins with the emergence of two mysterious dragons, proving that Aurelia isn't the only person with an unbeatable power at her fingertips, quickly escalates into a battle with the last enemy she'd ever expect: the virtuous, peaceful Carthinian kingdom of Krotis. After a posthumous push from Willem, the five leaders of Krotis - including the young Shasta Selle - set out to paint Aurelia as the villain of their story, all to distract the realm from their plans to seize power in Carthe.

Despite Aurelia's efforts to fight back and remain loyal to the destiny given to her by the gods, it becomes clear that she's outmatched. Visits to a strange new land, powerful changes, and the reveal of life-changing secrets test her methods and motives. It seems like the entire world is pitted against her, pushing her toward her breaking point. Her savior's destiny starts to feel more like a damning fate; one that may lead her to burn the realm to the ground rather than raise it from the ashes.
