Testimony is knowing that the gospel of Jesus Christ is true by the power of the Spirit, but we are converted when by faith we obey its principles. It is not enough to believe that the gospel is true, because belief is only the mental assent to the validity of its doctrine without the moral element of responsibility that we call faith. We believe "that there is one God," and by so doing, we do well. But "the devils also believe, and tremble." (James 2:19).
Our faith in the gospel is dead, or is of no efficacy, if it is not accompanied by the works that are performed by the disciples of our Savior. I have written these devotionals that relate to the gospel of Jesus Christ hoping that they will provide us with encouragement during our journey to the veil, where we will kneel at His feet. He will call us by name, and will say: "Well done, thou good and faithful servant. Thou hast been faithful over a few things. I will make thee ruler over many things. Enter thou into the joy of thy Lord." (Matthew 25:21).
