This study is the result of interaction with members of three organised gay groups - the GGB (Bahia Gay Group - Salvador, Bahia), CORSA (Citizenship, Pride, Respect, Solidarity and Love - S緌 Paulo/SP) and MGM (Minas Gay Movement - Juiz de Fora/MG), through which it was possible to gain an insight into their ways of acting, thinking and constructing their identities as homosexuals. Gay groups have become key spaces in the construction of 'truths' regarding what it means to be homosexual and to be a homosexual. Therefore, the aim is to examine how these groups are contributing to strengthening the interplay between discourses, knowledge and power in the constitution of their members as homosexuals.
