The deeper Adam digs, the worse the pattern gets: fabricated identities, altered records, a machine that has been steering criminal cases for decades. Every answer breeds another question. Every ally is hiding something. And slowly Adam realizes that someone is helping him, guiding him toward the truth on purpose.
Then he meets the one man who knows what Daniel Marsh really was.
And learns that the most dangerous part of the story isn't discovering who created the witness. It's discovering why they needed him.
Because once Adam understands what the convictions were built to hide, he faces a choice no journalist should ever have to make. Tell the whole truth, and destroy innocent lives. Or hold something back, and become the man who decides which truths the world is allowed to have.
