A moving story about a seven-year-old boy who suddenly finds his life in turmoil because his dad is leaving their once loving family to start a new life without them.
Ben is a carefree and happy boy who has lived in the same house since he was born, goes to the same school he has always gone to, and has the same friends that he has had since he learned to walk and talk. When his dad announces on their family taco night, of all things, that he and his mom are not going to live together anymore, Ben has trouble understanding why, and he could tell by his mom's facial expression that she is definitely not on board at all with the decision. He becomes extremely worried and fears that he and his mom will not be able to continue to live in the only home he has ever known, and they may have to leave. His changing family dynamics send him into a tailspin of all kinds of emotions, but with the help of family, friends, and the guidance of a tiny superhero named Guardian Twenty-two that he carries with him in his shirt pocket, he hopes to experience happiness in his life once again.
Ben and the Taco Night Disaster was written with the intent to share Ben's story with other children in similar circumstances to assure them that they will overcome their many obstacles that divorce brings and eventually find happiness in their lives once again.
