Stanley the Camel dreams of being a great athlete. But every time he tries to keep up with the cheetah, kangaroo, monkey, and ostrich, things don't go quite as planned.
He wobbles. He tumbles. He crashes.
Before long, Stanley begins to wonder if maybe camels just aren't meant to be athletic.
Then the Desert Grand Games arrive.
As the race stretches across the hot desert, the fastest and flashiest competitors begin to struggle. Stanley may not be the quickest, but he is steady, strong, prepared, and determined. And when his friends need help, Stanley discovers that being a true athlete is about much more than speed.
Athletic AS a Camel is a heartwarming children's story about perseverance, confidence, teamwork, resilience, and discovering the strengths that make each of us unique.
Perfect for young readers who are learning that success doesn't always mean being the fastest or the best-and that sometimes our greatest strengths are the ones we haven't discovered yet.
A playful, encouraging story for children, parents, teachers, coaches, and classrooms that celebrates:
Sometimes being strong means simply having the courage to keep going.
