自1904年2月6日至1905年9月5日的日俄戰爭，是日本與俄羅斯兩國為爭奪在朝鮮半島和當時的滿洲地區（即中國東北）所爆發之戰爭。戰後日本成為近代第一個通過大規模戰爭打敗歐洲的亞洲國家，也促成日本在東北亞取得軍事優勢，及取得在朝鮮、滿洲駐軍的權利，令俄國於此的拓展受阻撓。本社自三年前開始即陸續有系統地蒐羅並報導此役，以期讀者能更瞭解此役相關背景、戰役過程，及對未來歷史發展之重大影響。 自1904年2月6日至1905年9月5日的日俄戰爭，是日本與俄羅斯兩國為爭奪在朝鮮半島和當時的滿洲地區（即中國東北）所爆發之戰爭。 中日甲午戰爭之後，《馬關條約》割讓遼東半島給日本，引起了俄羅斯的不滿，俄羅斯為獲得不凍港旅順，控制我國東北地區，聯合法、德對日施壓，最後中國給日本白銀3000萬兩作為「贖遼費」贖回遼東半島，史稱「三國干涉還遼」。 對此，日本懷恨在心，伺機報復。逼日還遼不久，俄羅斯便以「還遼有功」為藉口，攫取了在中國東北修築中東鐵路及其支線等特權，後來，又強行向中國政府租借旅順和大連。而日本經過10年備戰，實力大增，又與英國締結了英日同盟，決心在東北地區捲土重來，建立霸權，取代俄國在東北的地位。 雙方戰爭以海戰（仁川海戰）開始，也以海戰（對馬海峽海戰）結束，而陸上戰場是清朝本土的滿洲地區，而清朝政府卻被逼迫宣佈中立，甚至為這場戰爭專門劃出了一塊交戰區。 戰後日本成為近代第一個通過大規模戰爭打敗歐洲的亞洲國家，也促成日本在東北亞取得軍事優勢，及取得在朝鮮、滿洲駐軍的權利，令俄國於此的拓展受阻撓。 此戰影響所及，除讓日本大幅擴張其侵略亞洲的基礎與企圖，俄國的失敗，則導致發生了1905年俄國革命，停止在遠東的擴張計劃；亦對中國、朝鮮之未來有極其深遠的影響。 本社自三年前開始即陸續有系統地蒐羅並報導此役，詳細述說了日、俄、朝鮮等國的發展背景與當時國際外交政治角力，及雙方戰略部署、戰役過程，以期讀者能更瞭解這對未來歷史發展影響達四十年之遠的重要戰役。
