本書譯自奧伯汀?伍德沃德?摩爾(Aubertine Woodward Moore)撰寫的經典音樂指南For Every Music Lover: A Series of Practical Essays on Music。全書共十二講，涵蓋了音樂的各個方面，為音樂愛好者提供了豐富的音樂知識和鑒賞技巧，不僅介紹了音樂的基礎理論，不同音樂流派，西方古典音樂的經典作品和作曲家，如巴赫、貝多芬和莫紮特，還探討了民間音樂和現代音樂的演變。作者結合具體的音樂實例和生動的故事，以深入淺出的講解，幫助讀者建立起對音樂的深刻理解和感性認識，讓複雜的音樂知識變得易於理解。本書寫作風格輕鬆愉快，洋溢著對音樂的熱忱和敬意，讓讀者在閱讀中感受到音樂的無窮魅力。
本稿為學術輯刊《梵學》(Studia Indica)第一輯。《梵學》於2021年由北京大學梵文貝葉經與佛教文獻研究所籌備，以印度學、佛教學為主要領域，兼及絲綢之路沿線相關的古代與近現代研究。北京大學梵文貝葉經與佛教文獻研究所自2004年成立以來，在首任主任段晴教授的帶領下，致力於推動我國印度學、佛教學的研究發展，在國內外學界獲得廣泛讚譽。因在輯刊籌備的過程中，段晴老師不幸于2022年3月26日離世，《梵學》第一輯遂改為段晴紀念專刊，副標題為“段晴教授紀念專號”(Special Issue in Memory of Professor Duan Qing)。分上下卷，上卷450頁(中文)，下卷300頁(英文)。本稿最前列有范晶晶教授整理的《段晴教授著作目錄》，另外收入了《梵藏漢〈圓滿譬喻經〉——新發現鋼和泰任教北大時的梵語教材手稿》《勃延仰的行跡——以中國人民大學博物館藏于闐語文書為中心》《漢語文書中的于闐語人名——傑謝居民的新集合》《龍樹的生平與傳說——材料與研究匯評》等多篇學術論文。
