Work-integrated Learning in Engineering, Built Environment and Technology: Diversity of Practice in Practice

Work Integrated Learning (WIL) seeks to integrate theory learned in the classroom with real experience in the work world. An international group of contributors, most Australia, Ireland, and France, report on a diversity of programs at their institutes. These range from surveying and construction management to advanced engineering endeavors, along with two pieces on WIL in information technology. Working while learning appears to be the critical piece that brings these articles together, for as noted in the preface, implementation is "more likely to be driven by pragmatic or practical considerations."
