商品簡介
Karsh was director of the New York City Mayor's Office of Grants Administration for eight years. Now an instructor, she provides step-by-step guidance, written in a conversational tone, for novices and experienced grantwriters writing grants for organizations, individuals, school districts, or government agencies. In addition to steps of grantwriting, coverage includes finding partners, sustaining the program when funds run out, and site visits. Each of the book's 18 lessons is designed as a workshop, with discussion questions, chapter quizzes and essay questions. At the end of each section, grantmakers from around the country, from government funding agencies and foundations of all sizes, reveal how funders think and what they want. This edition contains a new section on grantwriting during the economic crisis, which includes the views of grantmakers interviewed for the book. Appendices offer a list of 50 tips, a proposal checklist, 15 pages of sample forms, a list of foundation and government web sites, and explained quiz answers. A glossary and b&w cartoons are also included. Annotation c2010 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
