商品簡介
Ten essays analyze and compare Native American property rights and land use policies in the U.S. and Canada from a political economy perspective and with an eye to history and to Native Americans' future economic development, cultural integrity, and self-determination. The contributors--Canada- and US-based scholars of political science, law, and economics--present case studies to challenge conventional notions and raise questions related to pre-reservation economies; environment, fish, and wildlife issues; culturally correct property policy; and competition from states for Native American casino revenues. Editing is by Terry L. Anderson (a senior fellow at the Hoover Institution), Bruce L. Benson (economics, with emphasis on free-market economics, Florida State U.) and and Thomas E. Flanagan (political science, U. of Calgary). Annotation c2006 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
