Editors Elsner (business and economics, U.of Bremen, Germany) and Lee (economics, U. of Missouri-Kansas City) have compiled 11 articles designed to familiarize the reader with modern critical analysis of the methods of evaluating academic economic research. All but one of the articles that appear were originally presented at a workshop given at the U. of Bremen titled "Assessing Economic Research in a European Context: The Future of Heterodox Economics and its Research in a Non-Pluralist Mainstream Environment." Frederic S. Lee is a Professor of Economics at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He has published extensively on heterodox microeconomics, on the history of heterodox economics. He was the editor of the Heterodox Economics Newsletter and the executive director of ICAPE. He is currently the editor of the American Journal of Economics and Sociology. He has published in numerous heterodox journals including the Journal of Post Keynesian Economics, Review of Radical Political Economics, Review of Social Economy, and the Journal of Economic Issues.
