Kingsway

collection of linked poems that evolve around Kingsway, Vancouver's oldest thoroughfare that is neither a "street" nor an "avenue" but a "way" of thinking about cities and people and different points of view. Kingsway is a place to get lost, to lose oneself; both a starting point and a destination.

Michael Turner's first book, Company Town, was shortlisted for the Dorothy Livesay Poetry Prize. His second book, Hard Core Logo, has been adapted to radio and stage, and will be a feature film directed by Bruce McDonald. He is also the founder of the Reading Railroad, a popular Vancouver reading series, and the Malcolm Lowry Room, a watering hole in the North Burnaby Inn. He lives in Vancouver, a few blocks off Kingsway.
