Building on his earlier work in Street People and the Contested Realms of Public Space, Amster (peace studies and social thought, Prescott College) explores interconnections among the lived experiences of homeless people, the impetus of urban development and gentrification, the material and ideological erosion of public space, the enactment of anti-homeless ordinances and regulations, the connection of these trends to globalization, and emerging forces of resistances to these trends.
