In the drive for high performance among today's kids, child prodigies, teenage Ivy League students, national spelling bee winners, young Olympians, and other top performers have become more commonplace. Peak Performance for Smart Kids looks at what these high-achieving students and their parents and coaches know that most kids do not: how to channel mental habits such as setting goals, tolerating stress, being optimistic, and resolving conflict that maximize potential for success. Even the most talented child will fall short if he or she has not developed the mental, psychological, and emotional skills to face the heavy demands of high performance. This book provides practical approaches for developing these habits in talented children of all ages in a step-by-step, easy-to-read guide for parents and teachers. Peak Performance for Smart Kids also provides success strategies, activities, tools, real-life examples, and checklists for parents to employ to help their kids achieve their highest potential.
