商品簡介
Based on excavations at 41 sites from 1973-1991, this volume presents an impressively thorough report on a heavily used area of Roman Britain. Centered around a bridge across the Thames, the sites contain extensive remains of a trade center and associated settlement. The topography and chronology of the settlement are described before turning to the details of the site, with sections on the roads, buildings, economy, dumps, evidence of religion and ritual, and the area's eventual decline. Published in an oversized format (8.5x12"), the volume includes a wealth of drawings of the site and color photos of the site and the finds. Appendices provide a complete catalog of the finds and a thorough bibliography. The CD-ROM contains land-use diagrams, dating evidence, and a catalog of plant remains.
