商品簡介
One Hundred Stories celebrates one hundred paintings, sculptures, works on paper, and decorative arts in the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts (WCMFA) in Hagerstown. Maryland. The Museum opened in 1931 with a small but very fine collection, and was the product of the unique vision and generosity of a remarkable woman, Anna Brugh Singer.
The volume includes an essay by Joseph Ruzicka about the history of the Museum, followed by an essay by Alan Fern on the history of museums in the United States, both of which precede the main presentation of artworks and entries. Those artworks and their stories are arranged by category: gifts of the founders of the Museum, Mr. and Mrs. William H. Singer Jr.; European art; American works; and decorative arts.
